It all started in Berlin in 2019 out of my frustration of going to unfulfilling and boring Meetups. I (hey, it’s Stefano!) cringed every time someone asked me “where are you from?”. To this day, I still don’t have the short answer.
Since then, I’ve met some incredible humans who have brought the event to cities beyond our initial reach. Together we’ve hosted over 4000+ people in 20 different cities from Melbourne to Vienna, London, Lisbon, Mexico City, Madrid, Medellin, Vancouver, and even Reykjavik! 🌍
Most importantly, we’re on a mission to bring humans together in the most creative ways possible. We’re fighting the loneliness epidemic, inspiring curiosity, and empowering others to become more intentional gatherers. After years of testing, experimenting, and hosting, we are ready to bring this to even more people around the world.

Who we’re looking for 😎
Previous experience with groups (facilitation, hosting, public speaking, event organization, facilitation, and/or similar jams)
Commitment to host at least 1 event per month or 9 events per year (can be more if demand is high)
Clear and positive communication
(comfortable speaking in public)Great time management, self-motivated, and organized

The cost for this upcoming cohort is 350$. You can choose to pay in two separate payments of 180$ :)
This includes the license fee of 120$ per year, the training (three 2-hour sessions), and all of the points mentioned on the first page.
This training can be useful in many other ways! After you host your first event we work on a commission basis.A full detailed page on this will be sent to you once you’ve filled in the application and before we have the call. 📞

We got you! We’ve designed a proven strategy that makes most events sell out. We’re also just damn good at what we do. We can’t guarantee the events in your city will sell out but pretty confident about it. 😎

Your events will be featured on all of our channels + newsletter (6.000+). -
This directly depends on your city! The average host payout is around 300$ per event.

Epic Llama is the umbrella company, and F*ck the Small Talk is one of our signature experiences. In addition to FTST, we host a variety of other unique events like Playground for Adults, Onion Hour, Notworking Meets Networking, and Get Shit Done.
Beyond our events, we specialize in experience design consulting and offer epic team-building events and workshops for organizations of all sizes. We’ve had the privilege of working with companies like Amazon, Klarna, Malwarebytes, foodspring, Google Cloud, and SAP.

We’re currently looking for committed hosts who can run regular events in cities that meet one of these criteria:
1. Active Meetup scene – Think cities with a vibrant Meetup community, like most cities in North America and European capitals.
2. Active digital nomad community – Ideal for cities like Buenos Aires, Malta, and Mexico City.
3. Private events – If you prefer hosting private or community-specific events, the city you’re in doesn’t matter! You can still join the training and use the format however you like (for religious groups, community organizations, etc.).
We have active chapters in Lisbon 🇵🇹, London 🇬🇧, Mexico City 🇲🇽, Edinburgh, Zurich 🇨🇭, Vancouver 🇨🇦, Buenos Aires 🇦🇷, Glasgow, Berlin 🇩🇪, Dubai 🇦🇪, Montreal 🇨🇦, Toronto 🇨🇦, Medellin 🇨🇴, Malta 🇲🇹, and Wellington 🇳🇿
For example, Vancouver isn’t known as a digital nomad hub, but its strong Meetup culture makes it one of our most popular cities! The same goes for Berlin.🌍 We’re particularly interested in expanding to cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Geneva, Basel, Bangkok, Singapore, Seoul, Copenhagen, Brussels, Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, and Tokyo. (we’re also keen on expanding to less-known cities!)
If your city isn’t on the list, don’t worry—you can still apply to become a host!
We’re looking for hosts who can commit to organizing monthly events (or at least 9 per year) in their city. Of course, you’re welcome to host more if the demand is high! -
The $350 fee isn’t about us making a quick buck—it’s your investment in launching something amazing in your city with full support. Here’s what it includes:
• Exclusivity: You’ll be the only person authorized to host F*ck the Small Talk events in your city.
• Comprehensive training: We teach you everything you need to know to host unforgettable events.
• Resources and branding: You get access to our established reputation, materials, and tools to attract attendees easily.
• Support and guidance: We’ll be with you every step of the way, especially through your first events, to ensure your success.
Think of it as a way to start your own event series, similar to a small-scale franchise—but without the high costs or complicated systems. You’re stepping into a proven concept that’s already loved by attendees worldwide, with everything you need to succeed!

And here’s the thing: if we accept your application, and we both put in the effort to make this happen, but it still doesn’t work out, we’ll refund your fee. We want you to feel confident in starting this journey without fear of losing money!
