reject-a-thon

A 7-day quest for the Impossible Yes

The Reject-a-thon isn't just a challenge; it's your ticket to becoming an unstoppable force of positivity, courage, and resilience. Over 7 days, you'll dive headfirst with a bunch of other people into the exhilarating (and slightly awkward) world of rejection. We're seeking out those "no's" to find our "yeses," turning fear into fuel, and transforming the way we see ourselves and interact with the world.

40 Fearless Humans

1 epic quest

Our inspiration! ๐Ÿ’ก

Jia Jiang adventures boldly into a territory so many of us fear: rejection. By seeking out rejection for 100 days -- from asking a stranger to borrow $100 to requesting a "burger refill" at a restaurant -- Jiang desensitized himself to the pain and shame that rejection often brings and, in the process, discovered that simply asking for what you want can open up possibilities where you expect to find dead ends.

Graduation (reflection & celebration & who knows what else)

Somehow, Stefano and Winni made getting rejected a lot of fun. And some of the challenges led to unexpected results that made me realize how much more exciting life can be if you're willing to risk shaking up the status quo in small ways.

    This is time well spent.

  • Hereโ€™s a conversation that we had about this:

    Winston
: Make sure people know that we meet online.

Stefano: Yeah, but the challenges take place in real life. Like, they have to leave their house.

Winston: Yes, I think theyโ€™ll get it.

  • This seems relevant:

"He who is not everyday conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life."

    --Ralph Waldo Emerson

  • Honestly, not that hard. Itโ€™s all about getting over yourself and getting used to a fearless life where so many things are possible.

Itโ€™s 7 days, your life wonโ€™t change but itโ€™s a hell of a start in the right direction.

  • Crunchy. Always. Every damn day.

Ummโ€ฆ these Google reviews have nothing to do with this challenge but they look cool & give us social proof so, f*ck it, here they are ๐Ÿ‘‡

The most efficient money you can put into your self-development! Within 7 days I learned that you can get the most ridiculous things just by asking and that getting rejected is not as bad as you think. - Quan

Whoโ€™s behind this?

Stefano

(not a telephone)

Stefano has been asking people unusual questions and favors his entire life. His rejection quest started back in 2019 when he embarked on a simple 'high-fiving 5 strangers a day' challenge for 40 days. Coincidentally or not, during the same period, he got invited to give a TEDx talk and started giving less f*cks in general. He once lost his favorite scarf, twice.

Winston

(not Churchill)

With an affinity for all things slightly dumb, Winston has been walking through life, trying to inject some silliness into other people's lives. He'd love it if everyone could learn to find joy in situations that might usually embarrass or frustrate them. Winnie has been called a โ€˜geniusโ€™ by the guy next to him at least 4 times during their shortlived relationship.
